US Representative Jim Jordan of Ohio, the ranking Republican on the House Judiciary Committee and recognized as one of the most conservative members of Congress, will headline a fundraising event for U.S. Representative Mariannette Miller-Meeks this month.
The event will take place at The Courtyard By Marriott Iowa City in University Heights at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 18.
A release from Representative Miller-Meeks’ office says Jordan has consistently pushed back against the Democrats’ radical agenda and led the charge for transparency in the federal government. He helped found the House Freedom Caucus in 2015.
Wednesday, Jordan held his first investigative hearing Wednesday on border security.
Miller-Meeks was elected to her first congressional term in 2020 and re-elected in 2022.  She recently has been appointed a seat on the House Committee on Energy and Commerce, the Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic, and a Chair position on the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs Health Subcommittee.
