CRPD Investigating Sunday Morning Traffic Fatality of Coralville woman

Cedar Rapids Police are investigating a weekend traffic fatality involving a motorcycle, a deer and another vehicle.

Officers were dispatched to the intersection of I-380 southbound and Wright Brothers Blvd at 2:30 am on Sunday following reports of a motorcycle accident and possible fatality.  On-scene, officers and investigators found evidence of a motorcycle-vs-deer collision and subsequent motorcyclist-vs-motor vehicle collision.

28-year-old Felicia Tharp of Coralville was identified as the deceased operator of the motorcycle.

Investigators continue to investigate this incident – including locating and identifying the driver of the vehicle that struck Tharp after contact with the deer.  If you have information that would help this investigation, please call the Cedar Rapids Police Department at 319-286-5491.
