A Davenport man was arrested after investigators determined he used debit and credit cards stolen during a burglary to purchase lottery tickets and other items.
Police say 58-year-old Richard Feldhacker was at HyVee Gas on North Dodge Street just after 6pm May 31st and was seen on surveillance video using a debit or credit card that had just been stolen during a burglary at North Dodge Athletic Club. Feldhacker reportedly purchased nearly $32 in items and a Lucky 7 scratch off ticket.
Minutes later, he went to the wine and spirits section of the North Dodge HyVee and purchased over $60 in alcohol. Feldhacker returned to the store again and spent over $150 on items at the grocery store.
Feldhacker then crossed town and went to the Casey’s General Store on Willow Creek Court, where he allegedly purchased $100 worth of XTreme Cash scratch tickets and just under $30 worth of items. At least one of the tickets were winners, and Feldhacker reportedly redeemed them at a Kwik Star location in Cedar Rapids.
A warrant was issued for Feldhacker’s arrest on June 2nd; he was taken into custody Sunday and charged with four counts of unauthorized use of a credit card and two counts of lottery theft. If convicted on all counts, Feldhacker could be sentenced to up to 20 years in prison.
