Sources are reporting that the University of Iowa women’s basketball team will have a first-time opponent at Carver Hawkeye Arena this coming season.
D1 WBB Schedules reported that the Hawkeyes will host Bowling Green on December 2nd. According to the site, Iowa will give the school a $35,000 guarantee for making the trip from Ohio for the game.
It will be the first-ever meeting between the two teams. Bowling Green was 31-7 this past season and made it to the MAC Tournament Championship, earning them a slot in the WNIT. They lost to Columbia in the semi-finals.
Iowa comes off an epic season that saw them winning a program record 31 games and reaching the Women’s NCAA Championship.
