Motorcyclist killed in accident on I-80 west of Iowa City

A motorcyclist was killed in a three-vehicle accident west of Iowa City Saturday morning.

The Iowa State Patrol says 57-year-old Jon Bryan of West Terre Haute, Indiana was traveling on eastbound Interstate 80 near the Brooklyn exit just after 11:30 a.m. when his Harley Davidson rear-ended a semi being driven by 44-year-old Sherman Gilbert of Holbrook, Arizona. Bryan was ejected from his vehicle and was hit by another semi being driven by 34-year-old Sidney Greenlee of Chicago. Bryan died at the scene.

No other details have been released.

The accident tied up traffic heading to Saturday’s Iowa/Iowa State football game in Ames.
