A large fight outside a downtown Iowa City bar has led to the arrest of two suburban Chicago adult teenagers.

Officers were called to El Ray’s Live and Dive on Iowa Avenue at around 11:30pm New Year’s Eve for a large fight. An officer discovered an individual who had been knocked unconscious; another officer identified 19-year-old Lindsey Foster of Oak Park Illinois as the assailant. Foster was told to stop, but allegedly fled on foot and chased to the front of Studio 13, where he was detained. An officer suffered a lower body injury while taking Foster to the ground, and Foster reportedly showed signs of intoxication.

A group of friends tried to run up on officers as they were dealing with Foster. As the group approached, officers were concerned for their safety and made multiple commands for the group to get back as they took Foster into custody.

While dealing with the group, 19-year-old Olivia Scott, also of Oak Park, reportedly emerged and continued to approach officers. She was taken into custody for interference with official acts, and allegedly found to be intoxicated.

A search incident to arrest revealed a plastic container of marijuana in her purse; her only identification was a completely fake Illinois driver’s license which put her over 21.

Foster faces charges of Disorderly Conduct, Public Intoxication, and Interference With Official Acts causing Bodily Injury. He could be sentenced to up to 14 months in jail if convicted on all counts.

Scott was charged with Interference with Official Acts, Public Intoxication, Marijuana Possession and Possession of Fictitious ID. She could be sentenced to up to 26 months in jail if convicted on all counts.
