A distance-learning educational institution in Colorado has ranked the University of Iowa’s Dental College as among the best in the country.
The Fort Collins-based U.S. Career Institute ranked Iowa as 9th best, tied with The Ohio State Univesrity and Tufts University.
The Press-Citizen reports the Institute rankings assess the quality of healthcare fields like dentistry schools based on several key metrics, including academic reputation, employer reputation, and international research network. These weighted factors were used to create an index that scored institutions out of 100 to determine which university provides the best dental education.
Iowa’s score was 67.8. The best was the University of Michigan with a score of 84.2. The University of Iowa’s College of Dentistry was established in 1882, making it among the oldest in the country.
