A North Liberty man was arrested early Saturday morning after an alleged assault on his wife of one year.

Police were called to the West Zeller Street home of 43-year-old Kendrick Madison on reports of a domestic disturbance at around 2:45am.  Upon arrival, the victim, Kendrick’s wife, told officers that her husband grabbed her by the neck and threw her against the wall.  Kendrick then allegedly grabbed her by the arms, causing injury.

The woman reportedly had fresh scratches inside both of her upper arms that were bleeding, consistent with being grabbed.

Kendrick was charged with Domestic Abuse Assault causing Injury, a serious misdemeanor punishable by a maximum jail sentence of one year. A no-contact order was requested between the couple.
