A North Liberty teen faces a felony charge after allegedly keying a car in a school parking lot.

The incident occurred at around 8:30 am May 7th.  According to the criminal complaint, 18-year-old Caden Adams parked next to a 2024 Toyota Corolla at Liberty High on North Dubuque Street. Surveillance video allegedly showed Adams keying the passenger side front and rear doors.  He reportedly walked away for a minute, then reportedly came back to key the driver side front fender and hood.

Staff was able to positively identify Adams as the suspect.

Authorities interviewed him on May 18th, and Adams admitted to keying the passenger side doors but denied keying the driver side front fender and hood. Cost to repair the Toyota was estimated at over $3800.

A warrant was issued on June 2nd; he was booked at the Johnson County Jail the next day and was charged with 2nd degree Criminal Mischief. Adams could be sentenced to up to five years in prison if convicted.
