Two more teens have been arrested after an alleged stabbing incident at West High School last month.

According to police reports, just after 8:00 on the night of August 23rd three people entered the Melrose Avenue school after it was closed for the day. They have been identified as 16-year-old Moayed Elsid of Keswick Drive in Iowa City, 17-year-old Tion Exum Carson of 2nd Street in Coralville, and 16-year-old Nathaniel Washington of Plaen View Drive in Iowa City. None of the suspects are West High students, and both Washington and Exum-Carson had been given an indefinite trespass warning for the school in January 2022.

The three allegedly chased an unnamed victim through the hallways before catching him. Washington reportedly stabbed the victim multiple times along with kicking and punching him. Elsid reportedly held the victim down, and Exum-Carson allegedly stabbed him while he was lying defenseless on the ground. The victim sustained a cut on his left arm as a result of the incident.

The incident was captured on West High surveillance video.

KCJJ reported Saturday on Elsid’s arrest without identifying him. Washington and Exum-Carson’s arrests were posted today.

All three have initially been charged with 1st degree Burglary. If prosecuted as adults, they could be sentenced to up to 25 years in prison.
