The Iowa Transportation Commission has approved a second year of funding for CorridorRides’ Trip Connect – North Johnson County project.
The $175,000 in funding was part of $480,000 in grants awarded by the commission on Tuesday.
CorridorRides is administered by the East Central Iowa Council of Governments and has provided over 2 million rides in the past 10 years with a fleet of over 80 vehicles, serving residents of Johnson, Linn, Washington, Iowa, Benton, and Jones counties.
Trip Connect allows residents of Iowa City and those living in parts of Johnson County north of Interstate 80 to schedule rides with as little as an hour’s notice and as far as a week in advance by using the Trip Connect Johnson County app, which is available in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
