An area transient was arrested after allegedly puncturing a victim’s tire.

According to the police report, 35-year-old Terry Pearson was in the alley behind the 200 block of East Iowa Street at 7pm March 12th.  Video surveillance from the area allegedly showed him walking toward a vehicle with a knife in his hand.

As he approached the vehicle, the footage showed Pearson leaned down and stabbed the driver’s side rear tire with the knife. The tire was damaged beyond repair, and cost over $360 to replace.

A warrant was issued March 18th;  Pearson was arrested on the 25th and charged with 4th degree criminal mischief.  He was released on his own recognizance pending further court dates.

Pearson had two more run-ins with the law last month. The day after the alleged tire puncturing incident, he was arrested for public intoxication. On March 25th he was charged with 5th degree theft. In both cases, Pearson served a day in jail and was fined $105.
