Iowa City Police have arrested a man they say drove to their headquarters while intoxicated.

According to arrest records, 23-year-old Brett Mullin of Muscatine pulled his 2016 BMW up onto the sidewalk in front of City Hall on East Washington Street at 2:15 Friday morning.  He allegedly told officers he was there to get a girl out of custody, despite the fact she would be held at the Johnson County Jail. Police say he showed signs of intoxication, admitted to drinking throughout the night, and had a bar wristband on his wrist and a bar stamp on his hand. Mullin also reportedly admitted he should have waited longer to drive his vehicle. He refused all breath and urine testing.

Mullin was arrested and charged with Operating While Intoxicated.
