Speculation on who will run for Iowa governor in 2026 continues, as three more names have announced they’re considering a campaign.

The Des Moines Register reports Republican House Speaker Pat Grassley says he’s “not ruling anything out” when asked whether he’s considering running for governor.

During an interview with the Register Monday, State representative Bobby Kaufmann of Wilton said he was considering a run for the office, but said he wouldn’t run if Speaker Grassley decided to run.

Ankeny state senator Mike Bousselot told the paper he takes the idea that anyone would think of him as a possible candidate “a really high compliment.” He is a former advisor and chief of staff for Governor Terry Brandstad and worked in the state Department of Management under Governor Reynolds before holding elected office in 2021.
