The Iowa State Patrol has released the name of the fatality in Thursday afternoon’s Cedar County crash.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, a 2009 Peterbilt truck driven by 27-year-old Adam Wiese of Lowden was heading eastbound on Highway 30 at 2:12pm, while a 2015 Chevy Malibu was ahead of him turning north onto Taylor Drive. The Peterbilt collided with the Chevrolet, sending it into the ditch.
The driver of the Malibu died as a result. She has been identified as 59-year-old Loretta Frana of Lowden. Weise was not injured.
The incident remains under investigation.
