A New Pioneer Co-op employee is accused of selling alcohol to minors.
Coralville Police say they conducted alcohol compliance checks at thirteen different businesses on Monday. Twelve of the businesses refused to sell alcohol products to an under-aged person. However, 34-year-old New Pioneer Co-op employee Tyler Rhone allegedly sold to the minor. Rhone is now charged with supplying alcohol to a person under legal age by an employee of a business holding a liquor license.
Coralville Police say they will be conducting similar compliance checks for alcohol and tobacco sales to underage persons again in the near future. They add those checks will continue periodically throughout the year.
