Coralville Police say a man who called 9-1-1 to report the sun was talking to him later assaulted arriving officers.

Officers were called to the 21st Avenue Place residence of 35-year-old Willie Collins at 7:45 Sunday morning after Collins allegedly reported the sun was speaking to him. Arriving police say they found Collins in the presence of a party who has a no-contact order against him. Collins allegedly admitted to knowing the order was in place and that the woman was sleeping in a bedroom.

Police say Collins tried to run away when told he was being arrested. He reportedly tried to head-butt an officer, but was eventually taken to the ground and handcuffed. One officer suffered a laceration to his fingers.

Collins is charged with Assault on Persons in Certain Occupations, Interference With Official Acts Causing Bodily Injury, and a no-contact order violation. If convicted on all counts, he faces a maximum of two years in jail.
