Cedar Rapids Police have charged a man after he allegedly told them he was involved in a hit-and-run accident, but it turned out he was the only person responsible for the accident.
According to a release from the City, 64-year-old David Glandon of Cedar Rapids was involved in a motorcycle accident April 23rd in the 1800 block of Edgewood Rd NW. At the time of the incident, he claimed to have been run off the road by another vehicle. Further investigation revealed Glandon’s claims to be false and he later recanted. Witnesses to the incident also indicated that Glandon was the only vehicle involved in the accident.
Glandon was charged with Failure to Maintain Control, Falsified Reports, and failure to provide proof of liability insurance.
