Iowa’s drought conditions are improving, due to recent rains.
The Des Moines Register reports the newest Drought Monitor report released on Thursday shows 44% of Iowa with no dryness or drought. That’s an improvement from May 22, when 46% of Iowa reported no abnormal dryness or drought.
Both Johnson and Linn Counties are 100 percent drought-free.
Last year at this time, spring rains entirely eradicated drought conditions across the state.
The US Drought Monitor is updated every Thursday. Conditions are rated from abnormally dry to exceptional drought.
