A North Liberty man was arrested on a warrant stemming from a March traffic stop that allegedly found him with methamphetamine.
34-year-old Keylynn Rogers of Parkview Court was pulled over just before 3am on the 29th after the 2017 Dodge Journey he was riding in had a brake light out, and he previously was stopped in the crosswalk portion of the intersection at Boyrum and Highway 6 in Iowa City.
The officer reported the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle, and a probable cause search of the vehicle was conducted. 38 tablets of different shapes and colors were located in the glove compartment. They were sent to the DCI lab and tested positive for methamphetamine. Rogers’ phone was seized, and multiple text messages were reportedly found indicating that he was selling ecstasy.
A warrant was issued May 21st and Rogers was booked into the Johnson County Jail Sunday afternoon. He was charged with a Class B Controlled Substance violation and Failure to affix Drug Stamp. If convicted on both counts, Rogers could be sentenced to up to 30 years in prison.
