Police are investigating firearms found on school grounds in Washington County.
According to a news release from the Washington Police department, at approximately 7:30pm on May 30th, the Washington PD received a report from a citizen who had found two handguns under a tree near the Washington High School baseball field. At that time, officers responded and recovered two handguns and determined that neither contained ammunition.
The Washington Community School District has cooperated with the Police Department during this investigation and the school’s video surveillance indicated the firearms were left on the property eight days earlier.
Washington Police say more information will be provided when an arrest is made.
