Whirlpool has announced that it will be laying off fewer Eastern Iowa employees than it had originally planned.

The company announced in April that it planned to lay off approximately 650 employees from its Amana plant as of June 1st. But company officials now say only 250 employees will be laid off, with the target date now pushed back to July 28th.

Whirlpool says the adjusted number is not related to the ever-changing tariff landscape.
