A defensive back from Omaha has committed to play football for the University of Iowa.
Omaha North star Darion Jones of the Class of 2026 made that announcement on July 4th. Jones is a three-star prospect, and the #2 player in Nebraska.
Last season, Jones tallied eight interceptions, including a pick six. On special teams, he had two punt returns for touchdowns and two kickoff returns for scores.
Offensively, Jones had more than 700 yards receiving and caught 11 touchdowns.
He chose Iowa over offers from Minnesota, Iowa State, Nebraska, Kansas State and other schools.
