A Coralville woman who was reportedly driving while intoxicated and charged with child endangerment was arrested again Monday after an alleged domestic assault.
Police stopped 21-year-old Kylie Rucker of Boston Way near the intersection of Southgate Avenue and Gilbert Street at around 7:45 Sunday night for an equipment violation. Upon contact, she allegedly had bloodshot watery eyes with the odor of ingested alcohol. After performing field tests which reportedly showed measurable impairment, a PBT showed her over the legal limit to drive. A subsequent Datamaster test showed her breath-alcohol level at .150 percent.
Rucker’s 4-year-old child was also in the vehicle.
She was charged with OWI first offense and child endangerment.
Monday afternoon, Rucker reportedly confronted her ex-boyfriend at his place of work, where they engaged in a verbal confrontation. As the man attempted to walk away, she allegedly punched him in the face and in the back of the head multiple times. The ex –boyfriend continued to walk away, and Rucker reportedly followed him and kicked him several times in the back. He told police he had pain in the back of his head.
The two were in a relationship for approximately a year, and broke up this past March.
Rucker was additionally charged with Domestic Abuse Assault causing Injury, a serious misdemeanor. If convicted on the charges stemming from the two incidents, Rucker could be sentenced to up to four years in prison.
