Coralville man charged with violating no contact order and assaulting police

A Coralville man contacted by police about violating a no-contact order faces charges after allegedly resisting and assaulting officers.

Police went to the Lodge Apartments residence of 49-year-old George Jackson at 9:47pm Tuesday in regards to violating a no-contact order that was issued on June 29th. Jackson reportedly showed officers the texts he sent to the protected party.

The arrest report indicates Jackson knowingly refused to obey and intentionally resisted and obstructed a lawful order, harassed and attempted to bite a police officer.  He was taken into custody and released.

Shortly after 11pm, Jackson is accused of threatening to bite and assault another officer.

He was taken into custody again and charged. He faces two counts of Assault on Persons in Certain Occupations, Interference with Official Acts, and Violation of No-Contact Order.
