The advocacy group Escucha Mi Voz reports three people were detained at the Cedar Rapids US Immigration and Customs Enforcement office.

Five families attended their appointments, accompanied by about 100 other people supporting them.

The advocacy group names two men, Hugo Zamora of Postville and Moctar Sanogo of Muscatine. The third identity is not known at this time.

Johnson County Supervisor Jon Green said he escorted Zamora to his appointment before the man was moved to another room. Zamora messaged Green, saying that they were reviewing his paperwork and that he was fine. Green said he sent him a message saying, “Good luck, let me know if you need anything,” but did not hear back from him.

Afterward, Green posted on Facebook, “It is with anger that I report the gentleman I accompanied has been detained. I waited over two hours in the Cedar Rapids Homeland Security Investigations facility for Hugo, but he is gone now. I also witnessed a father of five separated from his wife.”

West Liberty City Council Member Dana Dominguez told CBS2 the detainments are not a shock to her after seeing resident Pasqual Pedro detained and later deported to Guatemala without due process.
