A Quad Cities man is accused of yelling racial slurs and threats of lynching at a pedestrian in an Iowa City park.

According to arrest records, just before 6:15 Saturday night a subject was walking through Riverfront Crossings Park on South Clinton Street when…without provocation…42-year-old Steven Cullett of Davenport said, “I am going to kill you” and “I am going to lynch you” as well as yelling several racial slurs at the person. Witnesses report Cullett then took off his belt and began walking at the person while yelling more racial slurs.

Cullett is charged with 1st Degree Harassment. If convicted, he faces a maximum of two years in jail.
