The owners of the Riverside Casino, Elite Casino Resorts LLC, say they’ve entered into an agreement to purchase Catfish Bend Casino and FunCity Resort in Burlington.

The Gazette reports the purchase includes all assets and operations of Great River Entertainment, LLC, the parent company of Catfish Bend and FunCity. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The Kehl family, majority owners of Elite Casino Resorts, was instrumental in opening Burlington’s first riverboat casino in the 1990s. They eventually sold to local businessman Randy Winegard.  CEO Dan Kehl said in a news release that the reacquisition of the Burlington property allows them to honor the past while building towards the future.

Elite Casino Resorts also owns River City Casino Resort in Davenport, Grand Falls Casino & Golf Resort near the South Dakota border in Larchwood, and new developments in Illinois and Nebraska.

The purchase is pending approval by the Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission.
