Coralville woman charged with assault after spitting on police officer

A Coralville woman was arrested on an assault charge from July.

On the 23rd, 49-year-old Robyn Regennitter of 14th Avenue was being sought after walking away from the University of Iowa Hospitals ER on South Grand Avenue despite being on a current hold.  Officers encountered her in the parking lot of the facility, and escorted her back inside.

Once inside, Regennitter allegedly stated “you know what?” in an agitated manner and allegedly spit in an officer’s face.

She was charged with Assault on Persons in Certain Occupations, an aggravated misdemeanor punishable by a jail sentence of up to two  years. She was released on her own recognizance on Thursday pending arraignment.
