A Cedar Rapids man faces a murder charge following a shooting on Wednesday.
Cedar Rapids Police arrested 23-year-old Kaleek Lewis on Thursday morning. Lewis is accused of shooting 23-year-old Dedric Arnold on the 100 block of 27th Street NE at about 4:20 Wednesday afternoon. A nearby school was placed into lockdown for a short period of time, but it was not involved in the incident.
Arnold died at a local hospital. Lewis is now charged with 1st Degree Murder, Attempted Murder, Going Armed With Intent, and Use of a Dangerous Weapon in the Commission of a Crime. If convicted on the murder charge, he faces life in prison.
