A Jesup man who was convicted of wire fraud in April after allegedly stealing over $600,000 from his employer has been sentenced.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Iowa announced in the release that 42-year-old Anthony Lang was the former CEO of a telecommunications provider in northern Iowa.

The Gazette reports a criminal complaint states that between January 2017 and January 2023, Lang purchased at least $600,000 worth of products and services — including an almost $7,700 hot tub — using credit cards and bank accounts belonging to the telecommunications company, which was not named in the complaint or the release.

Lang was sentenced to 38 months in federal prison, and ordered to pay over $662,000 in restitution. After his prison term, he will serve a three-year term of supervised release.
