The Iowa defense looked impressive for most of the day, but it allowed a late long touchdown pass that was the difference as the Hawkeye football team fell to #11 Indiana, 20-15 Saturday on night at Kinnick Stadium.

The game was tied at 10 going into the 4th quarter, when Hawkeye quarterback Mark Gronowski was replaced by Hank Brown after Gronowski suffered what appeared to be an ankle injury while running the ball.

The two teams traded interceptions and field goals before Drew Stevens missed a 42-yard field goal attempt to keep the game tied at 13 past the 2:00 timeout. The Hoosiers scored on a 49-yard touchdown pass on the ensuing drive with less than 90 seconds left to seal the game. Indiana took an intentional safety to run out the clock.

The Hawkeyes fall to 3-2, 1-1 in the Big Ten.

Up next is Iowa’s bye week before the Hawkeyes travel to Wisconsin on October 11th with a kickoff time yet to be determined.
