Iowa City Animal Services are investigating two separate dog bite incidents.
The first incident occurred around 5 p.m. Friday on Greenwood Drive near Benton Street. The dog was described as a mostly white Australian Shepherd with some merle markings. The dog was being walked by two women.
KCJJ previously reported the second incident, which occurred around 11:30 Saturday morning on the Longfellow Nature Trail at 1401 Sheridan Avenue. The dog is described as a tan or yellow Shiba Inu-type dog weighing approximately 40 pounds. The dog was being walked by a middle-aged white man with blonde hair. The man was walking a second dog at the time of the bite.
Iowa City Animal Services is seeking information on the rabies vaccination status of the dogs. If anyone has any information on either incident, they are encouraged to contact Iowa City Animal Services directly at 319-356-5295 or the Iowa City Police Department at 319-356-6800.
