A Cedar Rapids man has been arrested as part of a Tiffin sexual assault investigation.
36-year-old Lukas Barrett of Park Towne Lane NE was booked into the Johnson County Jail just before 4:15 Wednesday morning. The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office says Barrett was wanted for a September 23rd, 2024 incident during which he allegedly sexually assaulted a woman in Tiffin. Arrest records indicate video shows the reported victim in what Iowa Code considers a “mentally incapacitated” state. The woman was having trouble walking, and at one point can be seen falling into a wall. Barrett is then allegedly seen kissing and groping the woman, who appears to turn away from the kiss attempt. The woman also reported waking up to Barrett assaulting her.
Barrett is now charged with 3rd Degree Sexual Abuse. If convicted, he faces a maximum of ten years in prison.
