A Coralville man has been taken into custody on a warrant stemming from a September burglary.
Police received a call at approximately 12:12am September 11th about the victim’s front door being kicked in and property missing from inside. When officers arrived on scene, they reportedly observed 31-year-old Ladarrel Jones of Kodiak Court limping away from the residence.
Jones was allegedly observed on video shortly before officers were called, scanning the area and pacing back and forth in front of the victim’s residence. At the end of the video, Jones reportedly was seen walking aggressively towards the door.
A warrant was issued for his arrest on September 22nd; Jones was taken into custody early Monday. He faces one count each of 2nd degree Burglary and 4th degree Criminal Mischief. If convicted on both charges, Jones could be sentenced to up to 11 years in prison.
