A Marion woman was arrested late Wednesday night after an alleged attempted burglary of a Coralville business after hours.
Officers were called to the area of Petersen Iron & Metal on the 400 block of 1st Street on reports of a burglary in progress. 33-year-old Sunshine Scales of Meadowview Drive was allegedly seen on camera in an area of the business she had no right to be in after hours, with the intent to commit theft.
Scales was seen in the area running away and matched the description as one of the suspects seen on security footage. She was reportedly seen on video, looking through and rummaging around the business’ property.
Scales was taken into custody and charged with 3rd degree Burglary, a Class D Felony punishable by a prison sentence of up to five years if convicted.
