About 70 Iowa Workforce Development employees have been furloughed as the government shutdown continues.
KCRG TV reports 67 workers from the Unemployment Insurance and Labor Market divisions havbe been relegated to working just two days a week or not at all.
Iowa Workforce Development says fall is typically a slow period for unemployment claims, so they don’t expect delays in processing claims or answering questions with the remaining staff in place.
