Iowa City Police have arrested a Delaware County woman they say used her friend’s ID as her own during a drunk driving arrest.

Officers pulled over a 2011 Honda CRV for speeding in front of Mayflower Hall on North Dubuque Street just before 12:45 Friday morning. The driver, eventually identified as 20-year-old Olivia Davidshofer of Dyersville, reportedly showed signs of intoxication, admitted to drinking, and provided a breath alcohol level of .221%.

Davidshofer was arrested for Operating While Intoxicated – 2nd Offense. However, police say she provided an ID of a friend who looked like her as her own, and the citation was written in that woman’s name. It wasn’t until that friend arrived at the Johnson County Jail to bail Davidshofer out that her real identity was revealed.

Davidshofer is now additionally charged with Unlawful Use of a License and Providing False Information for a Citation. If convicted on all counts against her, Davidshofer faces a maximum of three years in jail.
