The North Liberty Fire Department battled a car fire before it could spread to a nearby building Tuesday night.
A news release from the NLFD says firefighters were called to a reported structure fire in the 1200 block of Ronald Way just before 7:00. Upon arrival, firefighters found a vehicle with a fully involved engine compartment parked under a porch in front of a garage. Crews quickly responded and extinguished the fire before it could spread to the structure.
Coralville and Solon firefighters stood by in case they were needed. No injuries were reported.
