The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has announced that the West Overlook Day Use and Sugar Bottom Day Use areas at Coralville Lake will close for the winter as of noon Friday. Recreators may still walk into both areas, but the Corps is asking visitors to not park vehicles in front of the gate. Both the West Overlook and Sugar Bottom day use areas will tentatively reopen on April 1st as weather permits.

Also, docks at the Mehaffey Boat Ramp and Sandy Beach boat ramp will be removed before the first significant snowfall, which is expected this weekend.
