An Iowa City man faces possible prison time after an alleged assault on his live-in partner.
42-year-old Tresor Liembe of Keokuk Street was involved in an argument with the woman Saturday afternoon, and allegedly began striking her with a closed fist, causing multiple abrasions and bruising. He reportedly knocked her to the ground during the assault, and when she fled to a porch to call for help, Leimbe dragged her back inside.
He fled the premises after realizing the woman had successfully alerted bystanders. The couple’s child allegedly witnessed the incident.
Police took Liembe into custody and charged him with Domestic Abuse Assault causing Injury and Child Endangerment. He could be sentenced to a maximum three years in prison if convicted on the charges.
