A brief police chase in Coralville has led to the arrest of an Iowa City man.
The arresting officer reports attempting a traffic stop on a 2004 Mitsubishi Endeavor on the 1500 block of the Coralville Strip just after 1:00 Saturday morning. The driver, later identified as 38-year-old Davonte Autman on Oakcrest Street, reportedly refused to pull over after the officer activated his lights and siren and continued eastbound on Highway 6 before turning north on 6th Avenue. Autman eventually stopped, and a check of his driving record showed he was barred for non-payment of an Iowa fine.
Autman was arrested and charged with Eluding and Driving While Suspended. If convicted, he faces a maximum of one year in jail.
