A large industrial fire in Cedar Rapids has finally been extinguished after burning for over 24 hours.

KCRG TV reports the call came in just after 8:20pm Saturday night from the area of ABC Disposal on Ingleside Drive. The fire took so long to extinguish because of the number of fires affecting piles of baled cardboard.  Employees helped move the bales to allow firefighters access to fires deep in the stacks.

After 25 hours of continuous water pumping operations and labor, all fires were extinguished.
