An Iowa City man was arrested Monday morning on an indecent exposure warrant.
The incident occurred at the Shelter House winter shelter at around 5:30am December 10th. 29-year-old Rodney Gary, a Shelter House resident, was allegedly observed by three people masturbating in open view. He was observed by the victims and on camera, reportedly with his penis out and his hand moving up and down in an effort to pleasure himself. He was confronted by staff and told to stop.
Approximately 10 minutes later, staff allegedly noticed him masturbating again. Camera footage reportedly showed Gary with his blanket down to his knees, masturbating in open view of the people around him for approximately two hours.
A warrant was issued on the 12th, and Gary was taken into custody Monday. He faces three counts of Indecent Exposure and could spend up to three years in prison if convicted on all charges.
