A Coralville man wanted for allegedly assaulting an employee at the UIHC main campus was taken into custody.
The incident in question occurred the afternoon of October 13th. 43-year-old Willie Collins of 21st Avenue Place was at the hospital when he allegedly pushed a victim against the wall with his body and struck them across the face with an open hand. The victim reported pain and discomfort, and redness was reportedly visible on the right side of the victim’s face. They also suffered superficial scratches to the neck.
A warrant for Collins’ arrest was issued on October 17th and he remained at large until he was apprehended and taken to the Johnson County jail Tuesday night. Collins faces a charge of assault on persons in certain occupations causing bodily injury, and could be sentenced to up to five years in jail if convicted.
