A convicted Quad Cities murderer has died in custody in Coralville.
The Iowa Department of Corrections reports 68-year-old John Sherman Pardee of Rock Island was pronounced dead at 7:18 Christmas morning in the infirmary of the Iowa Medical and Classification Center.
Pardee’s sentence began on Nov. 16, 2000 after he was convicted of murdering his half-brother in 1999.
