A Coralville woman was arrested early Monday after being called in as a suspected drunk driver.

An officer observed 39-year-old Jacqueline Loggins of 21st Avenue Place traveling westbound on the 1700 block of the Coralville Strip at around 1:10am. She was reportedly part of an incident with a different agency where the reporting party advised Loggins left in a vehicle after drinking alcohol.  When she pulled into a parking lot and got out of her vehicle, contact was made.

Loggins allegedly admitted to drinking. She showed measurable signs of intoxication on field tests, and reportedly refused a PBT and Datamaster testing.

When told she was under arrest, she allegedly held her arms in and would not obey orders to put her hands behind her back, instead pulling away from officers. Two of Loggins’ children were in the vehicle during the incident.

She has been charged with OWI 2nd offense, Interference with Official Acts, and two counts of Child Endangerment. If convicted on all charged, Loggins could be sentenced to over six years in prison.
