City of Iowa city news release
The Iowa City Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in locating two juveniles.
Dailyn Castillo Vasquez, 12; and Janete Jilie, 11, were last seen leaving Southeast Junior High together around 2:30 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 15, 2026.
Castillo Vasquez is 5′ tall, 90 pounds, and has long black hair, brown eyes, fair skin. She was last seen wearing a black T-shirt, light-colored jeans, a gray sweatshirt, white and blue or black shoes. She was carrying a black backpack.
Jilie is 4’11”, 80 pounds, has long black hair in braids, brown eyes, and dark skin. She was last seen wearing a black T-shirt, black pants, white shoes and glasses. She was carrying a pink Nike backpack.
Anyone with information on the juveniles’ whereabouts is asked to contact the Joint Emergency Communications Center at 319-356-6800.
