The Iowa City Catholic Worker is moving Saturday’s Community Defense Training event indoors due to the frigid weather forecast.
The event will now be held from 12-1:30 Saturday afternoon at Dream City on Southgate Avenue.
Attendees will hear from local residents who have been freed from the custody of Immigration and Customs Enforcement, or ICE. Community members and small business owners will be updated on the Catholic Worker’s 4th Amendment campaign and learn about their rights when confronted by ICE agents. Those in attendance can also learn how to train to be a legal observer.
