Allegedly trying to flush a baggie of meth down a toilet at the Johnson County Jail has led to a felony charge against an Iowa City man.

37-year-old Isaih Garcia of Prairie du Chien Road was arrested for reportedly driving a vehicle with an expired Illinois registration and without a valid license or SR-22 insurance on Hayden Fry Way just after 11:30 Friday morning. He was arrested by University of Iowa Police and reportedly turned over a baggie of marijuana in his possession.

Once at the Johnson County Jail, Garcia allegedly attempted to flush a baggie of meth down a toilet. He’s now charged with Introducing Drugs Into a Correctional Institution, Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Marijuana, and several traffic offenses. If convicted on the drug charges, he faces a maximum of seven years in prison.
